Clergy & Staff
Since its inception in 1904, St. Matthew's has been led by 1 full-time priest. Fr. Steve Reed was installed as rector on September 22, 2024. We have had a full time Parish Administrator since 2018. Kaylee Nelson-Fisher began in July 2023. We are grateful for the many dedicated volunteers who offer their time and talent to help accomplish the work of the church.

Hi, I'm Fr. Steve+ My parents are Fr. Jim and Lee Reed. My dad, Fr. Scott, and I all attended the same seminary in Austin Texas. I graduated in May of 2001. I was active in lay ministry at Christ Episcopal Church in Denver, Colorado six years prior to seminary. I met my beautiful bride Laura at church and next year we will have been married for 30 years. We have 2 daughters: Sarah (26 years old) and Jessica (22 years old). I have been active in church and chaplaincy ministry for over twenty years. I served at St. Matthews from 2010 to 2017 when Fr. Scott was rector and shortly after he retired. I then went on to serve at Christ Lutheran Church from 2017 to 2019 and St. Paul Church from 2019 to 2024. I look forward to serving.

Kaylee Fischer began serving as the Parish Administrator at St. Matthew’s in July 2023
A life-long resident of Fairbanks, Kaylee’s family is from the village of Minto and Stevens. From the age of two, Kaylee was raised in the Episcopal Diocese Office, and St. Matthews. Kaylee married her husband Joshua in St. Matthews in 2019. They recently welcomed their Daughter Davina Louise Fischer in early 2023. Kaylee enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
